Class Reflection

During my time in English 102, I learned how to analyze and break down stories, and it made me appreciate literature more. It especially made me appreciate poetry and the subconscious thoughts that lie beneath the words. When I first enrolled into college, I was not the best with writing thesis sentences. I feel as if with each paper and assignment I am improving my writing capabilities. While although my thesis statements can be vague sometimes, I am starting to get the hang of it. I also learned to be on top of the assignments and to be very weary of the due dates, due to no late work being accepted. I feel like this class has helped to prepare me for my future classes with the knowledge of how a paper in MLA format should look.
One thing that I really enjoyed about this class was learning about the personal life of the author before we actually read their literature. I feel like that is an important aspect to look at because most writers write about what they are surrounded by and what they have to deal with. Overall, this class has taught me to be more open minded to literature, and to read between the lines.
