Musical Abilities

A simple way to soothe your mind and a great pastime. Since the age of 11 I have been immensely interested in music and learning to play music. The first instrument that I put my hands on was a sunburst Fender Squire Stratocaster. My brother helped me to get started, but after he taught me about 2 songs, I started to learn on my own. I never took "formal" lessons, I would just look up guitar tabs on the internet and learn songs that way. The closest thing that I had to guitar lessons was taking guitar classes throughout high school. What really spurred my interest in playing the guitar was the band blink-182. Although their songs were simple to learn, they were full of energy and fun to play. Another musical instrument that I took elective classes for was the piano. The piano was very sensational and became a breeze to play once I learned the musical alphabet. What really inspired me to want to learn the piano/keyboard was a musician known as Tyler, the Creator. His music has helped me to appreciate all types of music and to be yourself and stand for what you believe in. Music was very alluring to me, you can really do anything on an instrument. As I got more comfortable on the guitar, I decided to branch out and try other instruments. This ultimately lead me to gain an interest in drums, and to sign up for lessons. I caught on rather quick and really enjoyed playing the drums. Whether I'm listening to music, playing music, or making music, it is a crucial part of who I am.

This one is a classic, this is the first acoustic guitar I played and was a gift that my brother and I received from our parents.
This guitar I actually bought fairly recently, it is only a few months old. I was browsing Guitar Center's website and I saw this guitar. the Rogue RA-090 for only $49! I thought that was a steal and that it was too good to be true. I just wanted a guitar that I could bring outside and jam with my friends with. It honestly turned out to be a really good investment. This guitar delivers a really bright tone and I often find myself using it more than my Fender acoustic, which was nearly twice the price.

In the eighth grade, I received this guitar as a graduation gift. This is an Epiphone ES-333, it is the same model that Tom DeLonge from blink-182 would play. While it is an Epiphone model, the pickup includes a Gibson Dirty Fingers humbucker. This was the guitar that I learned most of my tunes on, blasting the guitar with crunchy distortion.
